North Carolina Furniture School

While it is widely known that North Carolina is the home of the furniture industry, many still don’t know that Farmville is the home to the North Carolina Furniture School. The private school is run by Stuart Kent, a Fulbright Scholar, and a true master craftsman.
Stuart teaches woodworking methodology from the most traditional of methods to the latest in CNC techniques. This is a must visit for craftsmen looking to hone their skills or woodworking hobbyists. Stuart teaches to all experience levels.

East Carolina Artspace

The East Carolina ArtSpace is a creative hub developed 2017. It contains an upscale art gallery that features works from over 40 top eastern NC artists represented in different mediums. This is a great chance to view the best art in the region.
In addition, the ArtSpace also houses Farmville’s Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center and Elizabeth Edwards Interiors along with other artist studios and creative professional businesses. This 12,000 square foot facility is truly a place where creativity abounds. Come and see it for yourself!

Serving as the community’s information and learning hub, the library’s services and materials continue to grow and evolve. In the library’s 17,000 square foot facility (construction completed
in 2021), patrons have access to more than 35,000 books, regularly scheduled lifelong learning programs, children’s learning activities, computer and wireless Internet access, meeting space, reference service, and downloadable resources such as eBooks. In addition, patrons have access to more than 7 million items from around the state through the NC Cardinal consortium.
This is a state-of-the-art addition to our town!

Paramount Theatre

The famous Paramount Theatre on Main Street is at the center of Farmville’s cultural life. The Theater Building has always served the entertainment needs of Farmville since being first built as a traditional Movie theater in the 1920’s.
The Paramount has been home to the Farmville Arts Council for more than 40 years. The Arts Council regularly hosts dramatic plays, comedies, musicals, the occasional seasonal movies, visual art shows, and concerts from symphonies to rock bands and everything in between.
It is even known to be a favorite stopping place for Santa to take requests at certain times of year. If you find yourself in Farmville, check the calendar of events to see what’s on tap at the Paramount!

Farmville Mural Project

Back in 2016, local volunteers raised funds and hired ECU art students to turn the whole town into a giant art walk. These local volunteers raised funds and hired ECU art students to embark on turning the whole town into a giant art walk. More than 20 murals and ghost signs were created as part of this project. Several other murals were added through volunteer student teams from ECU College of Fine Arts.
Around every corner in downtown is a unique piece of art. Walk the streets and discover these gems that help make Farmville what it is.

Walter B. Jones Town Common

Farmville has a beautiful Town Hall that sits on the Town Commons. While the Town Hall houses our Town Administrative offices, the Police Station and the Court House, the grounds offer so much more than just being the functioning center of Town business.
The Town Commons makes for an oak tree filled park on Main Street that serves as a community gathering place, a park and a place to play. Or sit on bench and read a book or watch the world go by.
